The idea to create Nara was hatched during lockdown 2020. Lucy Mutch and Daniel Dew wanted to create a place that would serve the food that they wanted to eat. 

There are no shortcuts to good food. Everything on our menu is made entirely from scratch. It takes longer but it's worth it because we know exactly what goes into our food.

Nara is strongly influenced by Middle Eastern cuisine. We're also a little bit fanatical about fried chicken!  

Good food starts with wonderful fresh, local produce. At Nara we honour that promise by talking the talk and walking the walk.


We support the producers that are upholding the values that we hold dear. 


The producers that we work with include....

Homegrown Butchery who provide us with wonderful lamb, free range chicken and other meaty morsels.  

Our herbs are supplied by the wonderful Griff at Rebel Gardens. 

Fresh veggies from Moore Wilson in Masterton and Pinehaven. 

The mountain of eggs that we get through come from Wairarapa Eggs. 

Fresh fish from Tora Collective. 

Drunken Nanny goats cheese
